The U of A Ringette Team successfully defended its 2011/2012 Canadian National University Ringette Championship title by winning the gold medal at the 2013 University Challenge Cup. Achieving an impressive 7-0-1 record in the round robin portion of the University Challenge Cup, held in North Bay Ontario, the U of A went on to defeat the University of Ottawa Gee Gees in the final round to claim the gold medal.
The 2013 Canadian University Challenge Cup featured 10 university ringette teams from all across Canada vying for supremacy.

The U of A Ringette Team places a heavy emphasis on community service. Players and coaches volunteer countless hours each year on a number of worthwhile projects, including: Ringette Scores On Cancer, school visitation program, summer ringette camps, Kids in the Crowd, etc. Recently, the U of A Ringette Team was the recipient of a prestigious National Philanthropy Award in recognition of the $250,000 it helped raise for cancer research by the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
